COURSE DESCRIPTION

The CompTIA AI Agent Essentials course is designed to equip learners with foundational knowledge and practical skills in understanding, evaluating, and applying artificial intelligence (AI) agents in modern business and workplace environments. The programme focuses on understanding how AI agents function, identifying suitable business use cases, designing agent-based workflows, managing agent autonomy, controlling tool interactions, managing agent memory and knowledge, and evaluating agent performance.

The course equips learners with the analytical, problem-solving, communication, and digital competencies required to work effectively with AI agents in real-world organisational environments. Learners will develop practical skills in identifying opportunities for agentic AI, breaking down complex tasks into manageable workflows, defining agent instructions and autonomy levels, understanding how agents interact with external tools and systems, and managing information through short-term state, long-term memory, and knowledge sources. The programme also emphasises AI safety, security, responsible AI practices, access controls, guardrails, and human oversight, enabling learners to understand how AI agents can be deployed responsibly to improve workplace productivity, automate processes, and support organisational decision-making.

CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion of the programme and the applicable certification requirements, learners can earn the CompTIA AI Agent Essentials CompCert from CompTIA.

The CompCert validates foundational knowledge and practical competencies in understanding AI agents, identifying appropriate use cases, designing agent workflows, managing agent behaviour and autonomy, interacting with external tools, and handling agent memory and knowledge. It also demonstrates an understanding of AI safety, security controls, human oversight, and the testing, evaluation, and monitoring of agent performance.
